It is the policy of Macarthur Engineering to provide a safe workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors and that all employees shall be able to perform their duties in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner at all times
To achieve this goal the positive involvement of all levels of management and the active participation and support of employees is paramount
The success of our health and safety management system relies on:
- Creating and maintaining safe workplaces and safe working environments
- Identifying hazards and assess foreseeable risks and implement appropriate controls or remedial action
- Developing and implementing safe working practices and procedures that comply with legal and company standards
- Providing adequate information, training and supervision
- Bi-lateral communication between management and employees in matters relating to health and safety
- Pro-active planning of all work activities giving due consideration to implementing suitable controls
- Establishing safety committees and providing employee consultation in incident prevention
- Conducting systematic audits to support continuous improvement
- Providing rehabilitation assistance to encourage a safe and timely return to work for injured employees
